- Ellen Friedlander, Fine Art Photographer-

Snapdragon-cover.jpg

“Twenty years ago, I visited the Twin Tower with my children who at the time were 3 and 7. It was June. How could anyone imagine that the following September I would be watching the second tower disintegrate from my flat in Hong Kong.

In 2016, I finally had an opportunity to pay my respects to the victims of 9/11. I was struck by the rose ritual of remembrance as volunteers placed a white flower to commemorate a lost birthday.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to be the featured photographer for the fall issue of ‘Snapdragon: A Journal of Art & Healing’ (see below). The issue titled "Bargaining" focuses around remembering, honoring, grieving and healing. Released on 9/11, my art selected for the journal empowers the perceptions of the self to confront the reality of pain and loss in order to rise above emotional adversity.

Sending love, light and creative flow.”
