Wow, it’s hard to believe but it’s that time of year again when we get together to share news of what we have been up to as we follow our career evolution dreams. The date of our next SchmoozeFest is Thursday, May 10 and the time will be 6:30 to 9:30 P.M. so start putting your Power Point, Keynote, or whatever presentations together so you can share the adventures of your creativity with other like-minded talented people. Come and be inspired by people who have taken their careers to the next level and are eager to share their work with everyone, and then mingle as we network the night away and enjoy each other’s achievements…

- Registration for the summer classes at Art Center at Night/Pubic Programs is ongoing now. Take a look at the catalogue of intriguing classes that can expand your world and your creativity: https://www.artcenter.edu/acn/coursedescriptions.jsp
And sign up by contacting Art Center at Night, 626-396-2319 and talk to one of the informative counselors. You may also click on https://www.artcenter.edu/acn/, or send an email to tony@tonylunacreative.com for more information…

- Crafting a Meaningful Career- Part One- Discovering the Dream will begin the summer session on Tuesday, May 15 at 7:00 PM and will end August 14. This potentially life-changing class will help you to take a deep dive into what will motivate you to lead a more meaningful career. To get a good idea of what this class has meant to others read some of the Success Stories in the Inspiration section of our blog and follow the progress of past participants: https://www.tonylunacreative.com/inspiration/

- Crafting a Meaningful Career- Part Two- Forming the Dream, and Crafting a Meaningful Career- Part Three- Fulfilling the Dream—the follow-up classes to Part One—are also offered during the summer term. Each is a six-class meeting in which the participants create a business plan outline involving research and due diligence to launch their new venture. Once the dream is discovered then a plan has to be developed providing a road map for success…

- Thanks to the four creative professionals— Craig MacGowan, Loren Tripp, Agnes Carrera, and Percival Carino—who participated in the mock job interviews for our Presentation and Career Preparation students, and for the two-member critique panel—Nathan See and Lawrence Crandall—for our Professional Presentation/Photo class. Their insights and feedback were greatly appreciated and will help our Art Center students have a head start as they apply for jobs as emerging professionals. A job well done!…

- Erv Nichols and Sandra Noll notified us that the video that featured them, “Migrating with the Sandhill Cranes: Follow the Journey” is now ready for viewing. The subtitle to this work describes it as, “This MNN (Mother Nature Network) film follows one couple’s love of these magnificent birds.” This is a must see film filled with beautiful images of nature and inspirational messages by two incredible and dedicated people…

- Bill Wishner, Visual Hunter, invites us to the reception and showing of his magnificent art work searched out in Berlin and New York through his gallery showing at Walt Girdner Photo Studio & Gallery, May 5 to 26 in Pasadena. Come out and support this talented member of our creative community and celebrate what he has thoughtfully and artistically captured…

- Jeannette Stramat encourages us all to celebrate Mother’s Day by attending “Mothers, Eggshells, and the People Who Birth Us” an event and exhibition on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. This event features over eighty artists from various disciplines including, but not limited to, Visual Art + Media, Poetry + Prose + Spoken Word, and Performance Collaborations. Come join in the festivities at the Keystone Art Space, 339 South Avenue 16, Los Angeles!

- Andrea McCarthy has again generously shared a list of job opportunities in the arts at institutions of higher learning. Listed in the blog is a small sample of the opportunities. More jobs are listed on the web site for Academic Keys, Inc. Thank you Andrea for making these notifications possible…

(Editor’s note: Erv and Sandra are much too humble in their announcing this film about their incredible dedication to preserving the many wonders of our planet. This is a beautiful film and I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to view it and to celebrate the work these two marvelous people have done. Especially pay close attention at the end of the film where Erv says—and I am paraphrasing now—“Try to pick out those moments in your life when one little thing has made a difference to you, and that moment has changed your life. Maybe it was deciding to have children. Maybe it was that moment you wanted to be a baker, or a cook, and you’re in finances or something like that. Act on that. I just say it will be much more rewarding when you get to my age to look back on life and say okay I did what I wanted to do and I’m happy. In the back of your head you know you should have done this, or you should have done that. Do it! Do it before it’s too late!” Thanks Erv for summing up the values we promote and for doing what you and Sandra love to do.)

- Email from Sandra Noll and Erv Nichols, Nature Heroes, Nomadic Naturalists- “Hi, if you’ve got about 10 minutes, check out this site https://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/animals/blogs/migrating-sandhill-cranes-mnn-film-exclusive-bryan-nelson .

It’s the premiere of a short film made by a talented filmmaker Bryan Nelson that’s pretty much a culmination of our life as 'craneiacs.' It’s what we do and why we do it along with some beautiful footage taken by him along our journeys. I think you will enjoy it.
Your thoughts and comments appreciated.”
